We are a voluntary committee who organise fundraising events from which we provide the school with extra equipment and activities for all the children to enjoy. We work closely with the school staff to ensure we provide resources that both the teachers and pupils have identified that may not be available to them otherwise.
Every parent is automatically a member and is welcome to attend meetings.
- ‘A Night at the Races’ at the Black Bull Inn, Kirkby Fleetham where £1800 was raised.
- Grow a £1 where we gave the children a £1 and they had to think of ideas to make it ‘grow’. We raised £731.41.
- A Guest Beer at the Black Bull Inn, Kirkby Fleetham. 25p per pint of a Guest Beer sold was donated by the pub in April 2018 which totalled £150.
- Christmas Fair where nearly £600 was raised.
This money has paid for: equipment and eggs for the children to hatch chicks, work to the playground including a bench, some new wall art and render work, a First World War session with a storyteller, and tickets for the children to see a local pantomime.
We aim to provide a social setting which gives parents and extended family the opportunity to get together on a regular basis and improve links between parents, the school and the wider community. We usually meet every half term or as required, with regular email communications in between, keeping members up to date, recognising how busy people are. This means that parents can put their views and suggestions across without always having to attend meetings. All parents are automatically members of the committee.
