Class 1 at East Cowton this week

We’ve been master measurers in maths, exploring length and mass and carrying out some of our own investigations.

In history we learnt about the local sea hero Henry Freeman and were inspired to make our own cork life jackets for the pirate figures.

As a result of an impromptu beanstalk growing unexpectedly in our tomato plants we have been exploring the tale of Jack & the Beanstalk, incorporating this into our maths and ordering beanstalks of different lengths.  Finally, we have been cooking up some delicious bone and leaf specialty soup in our Pirate Kitchen.
